Join us on Facebook as we team up with Laura’s Little Bakery for the Claire House Butterfly Bake 2021

This March, Claire House Children’s Hospice are encouraging supporters to go with the dough and take part in their Virtual Butterfly Bake.
On Saturday 27 March at 1oam head to The Guide Liverpool’s Facebook page for a special 30-minute Butterfly Bake with Liverpool’s very own Laura’s Little Bakery.
Claire House is encouraging the whole community to support the hospice from home. There are lots of different ways to get involved, from online bake offs with family and friends to recipe swaps in return for a donation to the hospice.
“We want everyone to be inspired and don their aprons, fire up the ovens and get baking,” says Dan Haliday, from Claire House. “This is an exciting way for supporters to keep busy at home and get involved in something fun, all whilst raising funds to support your local children’s hospice.”
Laura will be showing you how to bake the perfect Easter cookies for the bank holiday weekend ahead and letting you into her famous baking secrets.
The aim of the Butterfly Bake is to fundraise for the end of life and bereavement support the hospice provides to families. The butterfly is the symbol that represents end of life care as butterflies are beautiful yet fragile.
When a local child passes away, Claire House can support the entire family at either its Butterfly Suites in the hospice or at their home. This end of life care is vital to families going through the toughest of times.
“Our work hasn’t stopped because of the pandemic, but it has become harder. Support from people like you means we can be there for families who have lost a child. We get one chance to get it right, so making the most of every precious moment is so important,” said Jenni Brennan, Butterfly Coordinator.
- In 2020 Claire House supported 95 children who sadly came to the end of their lives – these children are our Claire House butterflies.
- £7.60 could pay for a parent to have a comforting chat with a bereavement specialist over a cup of tea and a biscuit.
Claire House want to be there for every local child and their family that needs the Butterfly support. This is where the Claire House Butterfly Bake comes in. Just think, how much could your virtual bake off or afternoon tea could raise to support these families when they need Claire House the most?
