Aintree Racecourse became a sea of rainbow colours today as Ladies Day 2019 or Fabulous Friday as it’s known, got underway. With thousands taking to the pink carpet to enter the Style Award, the Red Rum Garden atmosphere was buzzing from early morning.
With a Range Rover Evoque and a years supply of Chi Chi London clothing on offer, men and women from near and far posed for the cameras, but of course there could only be one winner. Picked from more than 3,000 entries by our Style Award judge Jay and co, Sue Moon from Preston bagged herself the most coveted award title as Aintree’s best dressed and had a bit of an emotional chat with our Jay.
The weather was much kinder to the crowds today as the sun shone down on Aintree and a brilliant afternoon of racing. With the pink gin and bubbles flowing, our Gemma took to the crowds to find out how you pick your horses. Looking beautiful in blue, Gemma also chatted with the Ladies Day girls and guys about what inspired their Grand National looks.
Meanwhile Pete was distracted by the bevvy of beauties enjoying their Ladies Day experience and on missing his annual selfie opportunity with Coleen, bagged himself a brand new Queen of Aintree, our very own Lindzi Germain.
Famous faces can’t get enough of the Ladies Day atmosphere. We even had a touch of Essex glamour as TOWIE star Amber Turner chatted with our Gemma about why she loves the Scouse style.
Tomorrow of course, it’s the biggie. The Randox Health Grand National is here and you simply cannot comprehend just how incredible the atmosphere is around the city and of course Aintree Racecourse. Head this way for all the info on gate and race times, entertainment and more.
