Legally Blonde The Musical heads to Liverpool Empire in 2026
34 minutes ago

Get ready for pink, power and plenty of laughs as Legally Blonde The Musical makes its return to Liverpool with a brand new UK and Ireland tour, landing at the Empire Theatre in April 2026.
Based on the hit 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Coolidge – and the original novel by Amanda Browning – this feel-good rom-com of a musical has been a West End and Broadway smash, picking up multiple awards along the way.
Now it’s back with a fresh production directed by Nikolai Foster, who’s behind stage hits like Kinky Boots, A Chorus Lineand The Wizard of Oz. Casting is still to be announced, but with a creative team like this, it’s already shaping up to be one of the must-see shows of next year.

“The show was last here in 2012 so we’re absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Legally Blonde back,” says theatre director Diane Belding. “Since we announced it, our socials have been full of pink hearts. It’s such a feel-good story and we know Liverpool audiences will love it. Cast announcements are coming soon, but I’d definitely recommend snapping up tickets on Friday to make sure you don’t miss out.”
Legally Blonde The Musical follows Elle Woods, a fashion-loving It Girl who swaps shopping sprees for Harvard Law School to win back her ex – only to discover that she’s capable of much more than anyone expected. It’s smart, funny, and packed with catchy songs, and reminds us all that being true to yourself never goes out of style.
Tickets go on sale this Friday 16 May at 10am, head to the Empire Theatre’s website for ticket info and casting updates.
