The sights and sounds of Liverpool Football Club and its illustrious history have been captured in an app package called ‘Liverpool Football Club Memories’.

LFC Foundation and Forever Reds have come together with National Museums Liverpool to create first-of-its-kind interactive app content to support Liverpool FC fans living with dementia and their loved ones from across the globe.

Part-funded by LFC Foundation, and in collaboration with National Museums Liverpool’s award-winning House of Memories programme, and My House of Memories app, it is the first of its kind to be developed directly with a professional football club.

A range of LFC Legends, including John Barnes, John Aldridge and Becky Easton, Emma Case from the Red Archive and the LFC museum have been involved in helping to create the digital scrapbook of objects and memories of the club.

Matchday traditions at Anfield, away days, memorable moments in the club’s history and more have all been captured through a range of images, videos and audio.

On the launch of the app content, John Aldridge, LFC legend and chair of the Forever Reds, said:

“We continue to see the impact of dementia across the world of football and so it is a natural link for LFC to be a part of the launch of digital content like this that will help so many people who are sadly living with dementia.

“Dementia is a horrible condition and it’s important that we continue to help support those who are affected and their families, who are also impacted, as much as possible.”

Katie Ellis Carrigg, Head of Partnerships at LFC Foundation, added:

“This was a unique opportunity for us to work with the House of Memories programme to provide specialist app content for anyone living with dementia, whether that be LFC supporters, former players or the wider football family.

“We are proud to be the first club to take part in an initiative like this and we hope it is a real source of support for those who need it.”

Carol Rogers, Director of House of Memories, said:

“Working with Liverpool Football Club’s LFC Foundation to create a package aimed directly at supporters was such an exciting opportunity. Our app evokes the sounds and sights of Anfield, those famous European Cup-winning nights and other special moments in LFC’s illustrious history, to help fans living with dementia and their carers across the globe.”

The app package called ‘Liverpool Football Club Memories’ is available to download via the My House of Memories app. Download the app now via the Apple Store and Google Play, or download it here.
