LFC Foundation teams up with The Nippon Foundation to support young people in Japan
6 hours ago

Liverpool FC Foundation has announced a new partnership with The Nippon Foundation, aiming to empower young people and create lasting social change through the power of sport and education.
The partnership was officially launched at a press conference in Tokyo ahead of the Reds’ pre-season friendly against Yokohama FC on Wednesday 30 July.
Together, LFC Foundation and The Nippon Foundation will roll out a major programme across Japan designed to tackle social issues head-on and help create a more supportive, inclusive society. The focus will be on reaching children and young people from marginalised communities, especially those at risk of becoming socially isolated and not currently accessing other forms of support.
The initiative will use football as a tool to build confidence, leadership, and community spirit among young people. It’s about raising aspirations and giving children new opportunities to shape the future of their communities – both on and off the pitch.

Matt Parish, chief executive of the LFC Foundation, said:
“We are delighted to have partnered with The Nippon Foundation and provide new opportunities for young people in Japan. We can’t wait to see the positive outcomes for those who take part.
It’s fantastic to be able to extend our international work into Japan and we’re looking forward to working closely with The Nippon Foundation going forward.”
Jumpei Sasakawa, President of The Nippon Foundation, added:
“By partnering with the LFC Foundation, we hope to further boost our support for children and inspire every child to achieve their hopes and dreams.”
As part of the Reds’ visit to Asia, the LFC Foundation has also been delivering a series of community activities in both Hong Kong and Tokyo – including football clinics for young people of all abilities and backgrounds.
It’s another example of how football can be a force for good around the world, helping to build brighter futures one community at a time.
