LIMF Curator Yaw Owusu talks LIMF 2016
LIMF Summer Jam return for 2016 on the 22nd-24th July in Sefton Park, and already the line up is looking massive! With Sigma, The Wombats, Lianne La Havas, Kwabs and Ms Dynamite as just a few of the names lined up to take the stage in the summer, Europe’s biggest FREE music festival certainly seems set to hold onto it’s title.
LIMF 2016 is made up of LIMF Presents, LIMF Academy and Europe’s largest free music event, LIMF Summer Jam. Last year it attracted around 160,000 music lovers, cementing Liverpool’s reputation as a must-visit destination, with this year’s earlier July date ensuring it will be the perfect start to the summer celebrations.
Alongside these headlining acts, LIMF is once again celebrating local talent with the Academy stage, giving the local talent of Liverpool a chance to shine. Already named the best festival in the country for emerging talent, this year will also showcase a very special performance from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Our very own Jay Hynd talked with LIMF creator Yaw Owusu about the upcoming festival and just what LIMF means to the city of Liverpool.
