Live Aid Liverpool rallies support for it’s biggest community fundraiser
3 hours ago

Live Aid Liverpool, the city’s inspiring bi-annual fundraising concert, is returning on Sunday 13 July 2025, at the iconic Adelphi Hotel.
Celebrating 40 years to the day since the original Live Aid, this year’s event aims to raise vital funds for Zoe’s Place, Shelter Merseyside, and Gift of Sight — and is actively seeking sponsors to help make the day truly unforgettable.
Inspired by Sir Bob Geldof’s 1985 Live Aid, Live Aid Liverpool is a music and charity event that unites local artists, businesses, and community members for urgent social causes. Building on the successful 2021 and 2023 editions, which drew over 500 attendees and notable guests such as His Majesty The King’s representative, the Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, and the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, this event unites the city’s vibrant musical talent with a shared goal of making a direct impact on local charities.
Since its launch, Live Aid Liverpool has featured more than 150 performers who donate their time and talent free of charge. In previous years, this collective effort raised significant funds for organisations including Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Shelter Merseyside. With the 2025 edition poised to be the largest yet, organisers are calling on businesses and community sponsors to help expand its reach and support critical care for vulnerable infants, homelessness prevention, and vital eye research.
In 2020, Live Aid Liverpool’s sister project, Band Aid Liverpool, recorded a version of the original ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ song with the official approval of the original songwriters and publishers Bob Geldof and Warner Chappell Music, respectively, with the ethos of supporting Shelter Merseyside. The single featured many local artists and reached No. 11 in the official charts at Christmas that year.
In June this year, Band Aid Liverpool ‘25 will release an original song, ‘The Lighthouse’ featuring more than 20 artists to support Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Liverpool. The artists involved will be revealed shortly.
“We’re humbled by the tremendous support Live Aid Liverpool has received over the past few years,” says co-organiser Tony Cook, who co-founded the event after a dream during lockdown.
“With the 2025 show marking 40 years of Live Aid, we’re aiming higher than ever before. Our sponsors are critical in ensuring we continue to uplift local charities.”
“We are very hopeful that the Band Aid Liverpool single ‘The Lighthouse’ not only supports the fantastic cause close to the hearts of everyone in Liverpool, but also hope that the single will have success in the charts.”
A spokesperson from Zoe’s Place said:
“A huge thank you to Live Aid Liverpool and Band Aid Liverpool for bringing people together to make every moment matter. Your incredible support, fundraising, and passion mean so much to the babies and families at Zoe’s Place. With your help, we can continue providing love, care, and comfort to those most in need. We couldn’t do it without you — you’re all superstars!”
A representative from Shelter Merseyside said:
“We would like to thank all the organisers and artists in advance for performing at this year’s Live Aid Liverpool in July. Your support and fundraising efforts continue to be amazing.”
Gift of Sight said:
