Live Aid Liverpool returns!
Live Aid Liverpool returns for its second year on Sunday 16 April bringing the best of Merseyside music together for an eight-hour charity music marathon at the Adelphi Hotel.
After raising over £6k for charities Alder Hey and Shelter in 2021, Live Aid Liverpool has gone from strength to strength with this year’s festival set to include over 25 acts and over 90 artists taking part in total.
Sponsored by the world-famous Cavern Club, Liverpool Live Radio, and Liverpool City Sights, the event will feature the very best of Liverpool’s eclectic music scene.
Acts set to perform at this year’s festival include Soul Jam, Asa Murphy, Sebastian & the Poor Valley Marauders, Cavern Club favourites The Shakers, plus tributes to The Doors, The Beatles, Queen, and more.
Originating in 2020 as Band Aid Liverpool, local Liverpool artist Tony Cook began Live Aid Liverpool as a way to raise valuable funds for important causes.
Tony Cook, Director of Live Aid Liverpool, said:
“Everyone is struggling through this cost-of-living crisis, and it seems to be impacting Merseyside unfairly. More and more children are waking up homeless, and it’s not right. Liverpool is known for its resilience, and by raising as much money as we can through this event, I hope to support Shelter and Adler Hey to continue their great work across the city region.”
The event is set to be hosted by Billy Butler of Liverpool Live Radio and officially opened by His Majesty the King’s Representative, the Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mark F W Blundell Esq DL.
In addition to live music, there will also be a charity raffle and hot food available to purchase on the day.
