Liverpool band Keyside ditch the doubt and drop new single ‘If You Don’t Try’
4 days ago

Liverpool indie four-piece Keyside are saying forget the fear and go for it with their brand-new single If You Don’t Try, out now.
The city’s rising stars Keyside have been making waves with their mix of chiming guitars, real-life lyrics and a sound that’s already turned heads everywhere from BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend to Clash Magazine. This latest release is their own pep talk to anyone who’s ever second-guessed themselves — and it comes with news of a huge UK headline tour this winter.
Fresh from a run of tracks that have tackled life’s messy moments head-on, frontman Dan Parker says If You Don’t Try is about throwing yourself in, even when you’re not sure how things will pan out. “It’s about embracing uncertainty, taking chances and living life,” he says. “F**k it — let’s give it a go, see what happens if we try.”
Fans already hooked on previous singles like Runaway, Rhianna and Michael (What’s Your Call?) will find plenty to love, with the same sharp storytelling wrapped in upbeat, guitar-driven pop.
Keyside’s honest lyrics about real-life Liverpool and beyond have seen them compared to everyone from The La’s and The Smiths to new-era heroes like Fontaines D.C. and Blossoms. And with support slots for The Royston Club and The Wombats under their belt, they’re more than ready to pack out venues of their own.
This autumn they’ll hit the road for 13 headline dates, including a massive homecoming night at Liverpool’s O2 Academy on Friday 21 November. Other stops include Glasgow, London, Manchester and Cardiff — so fans across the UK can get a taste of what’s made Keyside one of Merseyside’s most talked-about new bands.
If You Don’t Try is out now on Modern Sky, and you can grab tickets for the tour at www.keysidemusic.com — but be quick, they won’t stick around for long.
