Liverpool barber shop and training provider give free haircuts to the homeless
4 years ago
Steve, Jake and Luke recently completed a fully-funded barbering course at Adult Education Training Provider, Innovative Alliance
The course, ran in partnership with Barbers No1, gives learners the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to start a career in Barbering. After completing the course, the trio were offered full-time employment at the much-loved Barbers.
The course includes practical work experience for learners in one of the multiple BarbersNo1 locations across Liverpool and Merseyside. This real-world training gives learners the chance to gain the practical experience and skills to deliver the perfect haircut.
After completing the course, the trio got together and devised a plan on how they would give back to the local community during these hard times. They decided to use their skills to offer free haircuts to people who are homeless.ย The three barbers have been approaching people in Liverpool and Warrington town centres offering up their services to those who need it most.
Steve said:
โโWe just wanted to do something for people living on the streets.ย โThe sad thing is a lot of the fellas are 100% willing to get their hair cut but no one has ever asked them. We asked a few of them if they wanted us to take them somewhere out the way to do their hair cut but they didnโt want to lose their pitch.โโ
The longstanding partnership between IA and Barbers No1 operates across the Merseyside Region, with upcoming course dates available.
