Liverpool-based Changing Streams announces to new partnership to help reduce plastic in the construction industry

24/09/2020

Liverpool-based not for profit organization Changing Streams has announced a new partnership with BITA, the British and Irish Trade Alliance, to reduce plastic in the construction industry.

Changing Streams has been set up in partnership with the University of Liverpool to reduce and eradicate plastic in the sector which is the second largest user of plastic after the packaging industry.

Members use their best endeavours to reduce plastic in design, construction materials and packaging.

Co-founder, Merseyside businessman Neal Maxwell says:

“We really value this partnership and look forward to developing relations with BITA and their global network to support our work.”

Following discussions with Changing Streams, BITA recently announced its own global initiative  #beplasticsaware from their recently established Global Forum which includes the Irish Network USA and Australia’s Club Hibernia.

The purpose of #beplasticsaware is to increase awareness of the impact of plastic pollution across the world.

Paul Whitnell BITA president says:

“We all know the construction industry and many other industries can play a huge part in tackling excess plastic use so BITA have plans to make this a focus for our global forum.”

The British and Irish Trading Alliance is a non-profit making organization that encourages its members to build relationships to generate business through networking, educational and social events held in both countries.
