Liverpool business leaders are coming together at a summit in the city this week in a bid to secure the long-term future of Zoe’s Place.

The Zoe’s Place Business Summit will be held at ACC Liverpool on Thursday October 24, outlining detailed plans and timelines for the baby hospice going forward.

It’s hoped that will give big businesses and organisations which support charities the confidence to go ahead and make major donations which could provide Zoe’s Place with the lifeline it desperately needs.

The summit is being spearheaded by MP Ian Byrne and will unite businesses of all sizes who are ready and willing to offer support to the under-threat hospice.

The one-off event is free to attend and, combined with the incredible fundraising of individuals and groups over the past two weeks, could help turn around Zoe’s Place’s fortunes.

Peter Schriewersmann, co-owner of Hotel Anfield, is one of those at the forefront of the summit.

He explains: “On Thursday we’re going to provide a detailed update on the challenges that Zoe’s Place is facing and we’re going to update on the fundraising and the future of Zoe’s which, after a lot of work by a lot of people, looks more promising than it did two weeks ago.

“The fundraising for Zoe’s Place is effectively divided into two parts: one is the individuals, the celebrities and the smaller businesses which are really vital. They have been amazing and their contributions need to keep coming.

“The second is larger organisations and the foundations which support charities. They need to be reassured that there is a sustainable plan in place for the future of Zoe’s. Thursday is all about instilling confidence in people about the changes that are coming to Zoe’s that will deliver that plan.

“We won’t actually be raising funds at Thursday’s event, it’s to give people an update in great detail so they feel compelled to get involved with Zoe’s.”

Peter says confidence is key and if the summit can get across a clear positive message it could unlock hundreds of thousands of pounds.

“Everybody is invited, so if you want to know the latest on the progress of Zoe’s, even if you’re a representing a small business, you’re very welcome. But this is aimed at giving that confidence to the organisations that maybe have their finger on the trigger to donate but aren’t yet 100% sure of where the journey goes.

“This summit is for business leaders and representatives of businesses of all shapes and sizes who might want to support Zoe’s Place. As long as you feel in your heart that Zoe’s deserves your time, we are going to use that time to give you all the information so you hopefully leave the room thinking, we can make this happen.

“We can have a Zoe’s 2.0 that is going to deliver for Liverpudlian families for many years to come.”

Zoe’s Place Business Summit is at ACC Liverpool on Thursday October 24, arrival from 1.30pm for 2pm start. You can find out more and RSVP to the event organisers HERE.
