Liverpool Cathedral makes history as it becomes first Cathedral in Europe to join Bloomberg Connects App

Liverpool Cathedral has made history as the first cathedral in the UK and Europe to join the Bloomberg Connects App, joining a growing network of cultural institutions across Liverpool and around the world. 

As the first cathedral in the UK and Europe – and only the second in the world – to join the Bloomberg Connects App, Liverpool Cathedral now provides attendees with a deeper, more enriched experience as it aims to welcome between 700 and 2,200 new visitors through its new partnership, while the Liverpool City Region is estimated to attract around 26,500 new cultural tourists to the city. 

The Bloomberg Connects App is a free digital guide to arts and culture, providing behind-the-scenes insights, exclusive stories, and curated content from over 1,000 museums, galleries, gardens and cultural spaces around the world.

Through the app, users can explore the Cathedral and its artwork in greater depth, navigate the space at their own pace, and access essential visitor information in advance. International visitors can also enjoy the guide in over 40 languages and access it remotely, meaning if they are unable to visit the Cathedral in person, they can engage with the space from home.   

The Bloomberg Connects app is also equipped with a range of accessibility features designed to break down barriers and make art and culture more inclusive. As the first cathedral in the UK and Europe to join the app, Liverpool Cathedral is leading the way in addressing some of the most pressing challenges faced by visitors to major cultural landmarks.

Liverpool Cathedral also joins an esteemed group of over 750 global partners across 32 countries including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum, and National Theatre, while here in Liverpool it joins other local organisations such as FACT Liverpool, National Museums Liverpool, The Royal Standard and Bluecoat.
