Liverpool Cathedral Sleepout returns to help support the city’s homeless
9 months ago
The annual fundraising event is a family-friendly night which gives a rare opportunity to spend the night sleeping inside the countryās biggest cathedral and raise money for two local charities at the same time.
The Liverpool Cathedral Sleepout is open for bookings you can take part to help raise money with The Whitechapel Centre to help the city’s homeless.
While it wonāt be like being on the streets, both The Whitechapel Centre and the Cathedral hope it will help people understand how difficult it might be when you donāt have a safe place to spend the night.Ā
Toni-Marie, fundraiser at The Whitechapel Centre, said:
āLiverpool is experiencing a homelessness crisis, with record numbers of people losing their home and sleeping rough. Everyone should have a place to call home – a nice comfy bed, hot food to eat, somewhere you can watch television, play games or read a book. Unfortunately, not everyone in our city has this. It is set to be an unforgettable night, with storytelling, arts and crafts, as well as prizes for the best ādenā.ā

āThe current cost-of-living crisis is having a serious impact on our local communities; Liverpool Cathedral is a safe place for everyone in our city where they can spend time and reflect. We are delighted to be working with the Whitechapel Centre once again to raise funds through the Sleepout. It always great evening for families and groups to take part in together, with lots of fun activities.ā
The Liverpool Cathedral Sleepout event will take place on Friday 5th April 2024 at Liverpool Cathedral. It costs Ā£5 per person to register for the event and a target sponsorship of Ā£50 per person.Ā All funds raised will be split equally between the two charities.Ā
