Liverpool Chef Dave Critchley Launches LIDS – Liverpool Independent Delivered Services Amid Coronavirus Crisis
A Liverpool chef has launched a food delivery service called LIDS to help keep households supplied with fresh food during the Coronavirus crisis.
Dave Critchley, Head Chef at the acclaimed Luban restaurant in the Cains brewery village has mobilised an army of leading suppliers to join forces to create LIDS, Liverpool Independent Delivered Services. The service, which brings together some of the industry’s leading producers and fresh food suppliers has been set up to offer families a high-quality delivery service of essential fresh foods.

The consortium which includes suppliers of fresh meat, fish, vegetables and baked goods has launched its own social media channels to get the message out to families and individuals who are struggling to get hold of the basics.
‘When the crisis started to worsen and our restaurant and outlets across the industry closed last week I knew I had to do something’, said Dave, ‘I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing local suppliers over the years and knew these guys would want to do something and rise to the challenge. We’ve had support from across the industry and are in the final stages of putting our online shop together which means people will be able to get deliveries of all their much-needed fresh items all in one place.’
‘The website and branding has been created free of charge and the we hope to be able to roll this model out to other regions, ideally with a local chef leading the campaign in each location. Our suppliers are the lifeblood of our industry so this initiative will also help them to keep afloat during these uncertain times.’
So what can you get?
LIDS has brought together some of the region’s leading suppliers including, the Scotch Beef Shop, The Little Shoe Bakery, Liverpool Cheese Company, Laura’s Little Bakery (cake pictured above), McKuhens Butchers, H. Jesse Seafood, veg, dry goods and diary produce from Liverpool Produce Company and cleaning products from Ware UK.
‘We will be delivering across Merseyside and are still actively looking for suppliers to join the group, especially over in Wirral and Southport’, commented Dave.
‘You can visit the individual supplier’s websites for now but we are hoping to have the main shop hub live over the weekend so keep checking social media for updates.’
