Care Merseyside, the local award winning charity, tasked with providing non-clinical interventions to help communities feel less isolated, is hosting a unique day of outdoor fun activities, a market and food court at the site of Merseyside Police Sports and Social Association (MPSSA) on Otterspool promenade.

The event will take place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July and is being organised by Care Merseyside in partnership with MPSSA and The Romans Market, who have already hosted a highly successful market weekend in early May.

Visitors will be able to enjoy free entry and access to 30 local traders who will be offering art, upcycled furnishings, candles, donuts, home decor, condiments, flowers, clothes, books, dog cakes, beauty products and much more.

Delicious street food stalls will be on offer including a Smokehouse Steak BBQ Bar, Mexican Tacos and Meditarrenean style charred vegetable skewers. Live Music and a bar will be available for everyone to enjoy.

Cathy Connolly, CEO at Care Merseyside said:

‘We are delighted to be working with our partners at Merseyside Police Social Club and The Romans Market to put on an open day event for everyone to enjoy’

In addition to the craft market, food stalls and music, guests will be able to try a series of free activities including football zorbing, archery and fun games from the newly reopened The Romans Adventure & Activity Park, located within the grounds of the MPSSA.

Cathy continues: ‘We have been supporting many local people isolated by the pandemic, all supported by our amazing army of volunteers who will now have the chance to meet each other face to face for the first time in over a year. We would love to see as many local residents come and enjoy a day in the open and support our efforts in strengthening local communities’

The Care Merseyside Open Family Fun Day is open to everyone from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July, social distancing will be in place for customers via a one way stall system and outdoor seating will be available for people to enjoy delicious street food, coffees and an outdoor bar, whilst enjoying live acoustic music from local musicians.
