Liverpool Empire Youth Theatre brings the energy with Footloose this August
2 months ago

Get ready to kick off your Sunday shoes as Liverpool Empire Youth Theatre brings the high-energy, feel-good musical Footloose to the stage this summer.
The talented young cast from across the Liverpool City Region are preparing to light up the Empire stage once again with their latest production Footloose, filled with big dance numbers, iconic 80s tunes and a whole lot of heart.
Based on the hit 1984 film that became a global phenomenon, Footloose tells the story of Ren, a city teenager who finds himself uprooted and dumped in a small rural town where dancing and rock music have been banned. Frustrated but determined, Ren takes a stand – and it’s not long before he has the whole town talking, dancing and fighting for the freedom to express themselves.
Packed with unforgettable songs like Holding Out for a Hero, Almost Paradise, Let’s Hear It For The Boy and, of course, the show-stopping title track Footloose, this musical promises a night of nostalgia and non-stop entertainment.

Liverpool Empire Youth Theatre is known for showcasing the next generation of stage talent, with past productions drawing praise for their energy, professionalism and star-quality performances. It’s more than just a youth production – it’s a full-scale, West End-style experience that gives local young performers a chance to shine in one of the city’s most iconic theatres.
Whether you’re a fan of the film or just love a show with great music and an uplifting story, this production of Footloosepromises to be a highlight of the summer theatre calendar.
Performances take place this August at Liverpool Empire Theatre. Expect powerful vocals, electric choreography and a whole lot of dancing in the aisles.
