West Derby Village is about to get a whole lot more sparkly as none other than DJ Lee Butler switches on the Christmas lights. Known for its thriving food and drink scene, ‘The Village’ is now a destination within itself and if you’re hoping to avoid the crowds in town – you can also box off your present buying in L12 now too.
Liverpool Gift Gallery was founded by Georgie Moore and her husband Steve in 2016. The concept behind the Mill Lane store was to give Georgie and as many talented local artists a platform to sell their artwork.
Following a devastating cancer diagnosis and sadly losing her beloved dad within a short space of time, Georgie identified a gap in the West Derby Village market, and supported by The Women’s Org and some sterling words of advice from her late dad, she took the plunge to make the shop a reality.
At Liverpool Gift Gallery you will find a selection of beautiful artwork, cards and gifts by local artists and makers that celebrate our beloved City of Liverpool. From original paintings to Liverpool baubles and everything in between.
The Liverpool Gift Gallery is also home to a number of exclusive products including handmade sterling silver jewellery, clothing, Scouse glass kitchen wear and a whole selection of smaller, stocking filler items such as handmade felt toys and Liver Birds made by Diane Dawber. Christmas 2019 also marks the third year The Liverpool Gift Gallery has produced the hugely popular Liverpool Calendar which is a collaboration with artist Freida McKitrick.
Georgie added: “Most recently, we’ve been able to add the super-popular urban prints of Liverpool by wonderful artist Ian Fennelly. We offer a wide range of personalised gifts but don’t leave it too late to order as our books fill up quick at this time of year!
“The shop has also proved especially popular with supporters of both Liverpool and Everton Football Clubs as we stock a wide range of brilliant and unique football related artwork, cards and gifts too.
“Buying from us means supporting your local independent shop and the local economy whilst purchasing unique cards, art and gifts for all your loved ones. You can also have a drink and a bite to eat in many of the local pubs, cafes and restaurants whilst taking care of your gift list.”
The Liverpool Gift Gallery is open every day through out December (except Tuesdays) and is open until 12pm on Christmas Eve. To find out more and see what’s in store, head to www.liverpoolgiftgallery.co.uk.
