Liverpool’s Hotel Indigo has been awarded Hotel of the Year in its brand category at the IHG Hotel Star Awards.
It also picked up a further two awards for Guest Experience Excellence and True Hospitality Best Colleague of the Year within the Hotel Indigo brand category.
For the accolade of Hotel of the Year, the Indigo property, which is managed by Valor Hospitality Europe, was judged against seven key metrics which look at criteria such as customer experience, customer loyalty and recognition and consistent quality of service.
The Liverpool hotel was the only Indigo in the whole of the UK to score top marks of seven out of seven in all categories.
It was the hotel’s outstanding approach to excellent customer service that resulted in the Best Guest Experience award win.
The judges were looking for individuals who are team players and go the extra mile for guests for the winners of the True Hospitality Best Colleague of the Year. The award went to front office manager, Samantha McDermott for her excellent performance and consistently going above and beyond for guests.
Sarah Turner, general manager at Hotel Indigo Liverpool, said: “Winning three awards when we were up against Indigo properties and colleagues from right across the UK is a fantastic achievement and I’m so proud of our whole team, especially Samantha.
“In Samantha’s role, she is often the first person our guests interact with when they come to stay or dine with us and those first impressions really do count. Samantha’s recognition is further confirmation of the excellent work she does at the hotel.”
