Liverpool John Lennon Airport set to welcome thousands of passengers for the Christmas getaway
1 year ago
With some schools across the North West already having finished for the Christmas and New Year holidays and others finishing later this week, Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) is gearing up once again for the traditional Christmas and New Year ‘getaway’, with around 130,000 passengers expected to pass through the Airport over the festive and New Year holiday period.
Lots of families from across the region are expected to head off on flights over the holiday period to a host of destinations direct from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Some will be heading off for a mix of winter sun or winter sports, whilst many will be travelling to visit friends or relatives over the festive period.
Destinations likely to prove most popular include Dublin, Belfast, Geneva, Isle of Man, Alicante, Jersey, Lanzarote, Paris and Tenerife.
Passengers due to fly out from Liverpool can continue to take advantage of Liverpool’s renowned Faster, Easier, Friendlier customer experience, but as always at this time of year, LJLA Management are keen to remind all passengers that restrictions on liquids carried in hand luggage are still in place and to think carefully about what items they are intending to pack in hand luggage, before they set off for the Airport – especially those who are travelling with presents for friends and relatives.
Electrical items such as tablets and laptops must still be placed separately in trays provided along with liquids and gels up to a maximum 100ml and in small sealable transparent bags.
To avoid disappointment at the security search point and to help keep security queues to a minimum, passengers are being asked to travel with their presents unwrapped if they are to be carried in hand luggage, with items including Christmas crackers not permitted by most airlines.
Robin Tudor, Head of PR for LJLA, said:
“The Christmas and New Year period is expected to be busy once again and we look forward to welcoming thousands of passengers from across the region who will be taking advantage of our award winning customer experience and the convenience of flying hassle free from Liverpool.
“We’re really proud of our faster, easier and friendlier passenger experience, but at this time of year, we ask that passengers also help to ensure a great start to their festive getaway by remembering to always allow plenty of time, come prepared and think carefully about what they are carrying in their hand luggage, since restrictions remain in place.”
