Liverpool nursery to host two-day wellbeing festival for children next month

Liverpool nursery K8z Cheeky Monkeyz have announced a huge two day wellbeing festival for children on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September.

Next Generation Festival is taking place on sacred land near Corwen, North Wales, and will feature a wide range of activities — from games and assault courses to meditation and yoga.

Next Generation Festival will include wellbeing practises such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, sound baths, massage, counselling and sharing circles. Meanwhile, activities include things such as assault courses, swimming, kayaking, forest school, arts and crafts, circuit training, self defence and more. With three separate tents for different age groups, there’s a wide range of activities for all ages of children.

The exciting new concept is being hosted by Katie Forster and a team of children’s wellbeing experts, with the aim of helping children get over the back to school blues and focus on wellbeing and creativity. The festival has a big focus on inclusivity and neurodivergency, with fully trained facilitators and wrist bands available for children who prefer no physical contact.

Activities run all day over the two days, although parents and children can stay over all weekend. Camping is available from the Friday night and tickets start from just £50 per child and £15 per adult — with full three day camping tickets at just £140 per child and £50 per adult — very affordable given the wide range of activities on offer. There’ll also be a wide range of food stalls and festival facilities on site.

Organiser Katie Forster said:

“Next Generation Festival is about getting as many people who are passionate about working with children to come together to collaborate and showcase all the different, wonderful things that are on offer for them. It’s about getting children and parents off their devices, in nature and spending quality time together away from the stresses that come with our busy lives.”

She continued: “I’ve had the pleasure of being part of many different festivals and I feel there either isn’t anything for kids and parents like this with a big focus on wellbeing. There will be over 60 activities and a beautiful team of space holders, all very experienced in working with children — putting their hearts and magic together to create a wonderful event for you and your family.”

Katie has vast experience working with children during the past 24 years. With an impressive array of qualifications, she is a Nursery Owner, Childminder, Nursery Nurse, Children’s Fitness Instructor, Reflex Yoga Instructor, Youth Worker, Children’s Mindfulness Coach, Children’s Yoga Teacher, Baby Massage Therapist, Neurological Development SEN Specialist, Yotism Instructor (Yoga for Autism), Health & Safety Officer, Safeguarding Officer, Fire Marshal, Mental Health Coach, First Aider and Lifeguard.

Katie summarised: “We really can’t wait for this wholesome, inclusive and fun weekend of activities and connection that will nourish the souls of both children and parents. In today’s society where these things are lacking, it’s a wonderful opportunity to come together in nature and escape from the daily grind — focusing on the simple things and wellbeing that are so important yet we forget about.”

Next Generation Festival is taking place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September 2025, with weekend camping available from the Friday night. The festival will include over 60 wellbeing activities, fun and games, food trucks and more — with a big focus on wellbeing, inclusivity and neurodivergency.
