Liverpool Schools Football Association (LSFA) proudly announces a special month-long exhibition on throughout May.

The event will take place from Friday, 1st May until Saturday, 30th May 2026 at Liverpool’s iconic St George’s Hall. This exhibition is in collaboration with Liverpool City Council.

This special exhibition will highlight the strong history and exciting future of the LSFA, showcasing its unique place in the sporting heritage of Liverpool. Visitors will be able to explore the history of school football heritage, see inspiring stories from past and present participants, and discover insight into how the organisation continues to shape young lives across the city.

The LSA has been a vital cornerstone of youth sport in Liverpool by promoting inclusivity, fostering talent and community ties, with it coming from humble beginnings in the 19th Century.

The exhibition will highlight the memorabilia, archival materials, and interactive displays that bring to life the impact of school football on generations.

This event aims to also explore the future, celebrating LSA and it’s dedication to providing opportunities, nurturing potential, and supporting the well-being of young people and vital local initiatives through sport.

The public as well as schools, ex-players, staff and football fans are encouraged to attend and join in the celebration which will be taking place Monday to Saturday, 1st – 30th May, 9:30am to 4:30pm at Stable Gallery, south entrance, opposite Queen Square Bus Station

Andy Reidel, Chairman of the Liverpool Schools Football Association, said:

“School football has shaped generations of young people in this city, giving them confidence, discipline and a sense of belonging that lasts far beyond their time on the pitch. As we celebrate this remarkable legacy, it feels more important than ever to recognise the players, teachers and volunteers who built the foundations we stand on today. This event is not only a tribute to our past but a reminder of the power football has to unite communities and inspire futures. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the LSFA over the decades, and I look forward to welcoming former players, families and supporters as we honour the history that continues to make Liverpool proud.”
