Liverpool skincare expert launches new child-friendly brand, FUNNYSKIN

Liverpool’s own skincare specialist, Ashley Wady — the powerhouse behind the hit brand BOSSFACE — is back with something brand new, and this time she’s thinking about the next generation.

Introducing FUNNYSKIN: a fresh, simple, and safe skincare range specially designed for kids and teens.

With over two decades of experience under her belt, Ashley, from Allerton, has teamed up with paediatricians and dermatologists at top children’s hospitals to create a collection that’s clean, effective and easy to use. Perfect for ages eight to 16, FUNNYSKIN’s products are free from soap, alcohol, hormones, parabens, artificial colours, and other nasties – making them gentle enough for delicate, developing skin.

The new range includes four hero products, all formulated in an award-winning UK-based lab:

  • FUNNY FOAM (£20) – a gentle cleanser that removes makeup, dirt, and excess oil, helping to prevent teenage breakouts.
  • SUPER BOUNCE (£25) – a nourishing serum packed with skin-loving ingredients for long-lasting hydration without irritation.
  • WHIP & GLOSS (£25) – a daily moisturiser featuring squalane, shea butter, and soothing bisabolol to keep skin soft, strong and glowing.
  • PROTECT & PLAY SPF50 (£27) – a lightweight, non-greasy sunscreen offering 12+ hours of powerful sun protection, boosted with natural plant extracts.

Ashley, who has previously worked with global beauty giants like L’Oréal, GSK and Aestheticare, founded BOSSFACE during the pandemic, building a network of over 350 partner clinics across the UK. Now, her focus is on offering younger audiences safer skincare options in a world increasingly influenced by social media trends.

Speaking about the launch of FUNNYSKIN, Ashley said:

“I’ve always wanted to create skincare for kids. Healthy habits start early, but lately I’ve seen a worrying rise in young people buying unsuitable products after seeing them on TikTok. Kids’ skin is thinner and much more delicate, so it’s vital we protect it properly rather than exposing it to harsh or trendy actives.”

Ashley warns against using products containing strong ingredients like AHAs, BHAs, retinol, vitamin C, alcohol or fragrances on young skin — and instead encourages sticking to simple, gentle care, with SPF playing a major role.

“In Australia, sun education starts young and it’s something we need more of here too,” she adds. “Even in the UK, daily SPF is essential — protecting your skin should be as normal as brushing your teeth.”

FUNNYSKIN is now available to buy online here.
