Liverpool’s BarbersNo1 partner with Innovative Alliance to address skills shortage
5 years ago
Innovative Alliance are helping to address skills shortages in the Liverpool City Region with their partnership approach to training.
Innovative Alliance (IA), an adult education training provider with a strong foothold in the Liverpool City Region, recently partnered with one of the leading barbering companies in the North West, BarbersNo1, to deliver training courses within a first-class barbering environment designed to get people on the path to their future careers.
Participants first undertook an Introduction to Employment in Barbering qualification, which focused on equipping them with the transferrable employment skills that employers look for, as well as supporting them to get ready for the world of work within a barbering environment. After successfully completing this course, participants had the opportunity to move on to the Level 2 Barbering course, a practical course which was delivered within a BarbersNo1 setting by IA’s industry specialist tutors.
Those leaners that successfully completed the course were offered an opportunity to further their studies through a Level 3 programme supported by an Adult Learning Loan through IA’s sister company, Progress to Excellence Ltd. Adult Learning Loans give learners an affordable way to invest in their future, allowing them to train now and pay later. In this example it helped participants take their final step in becoming a qualified barber.
An impressive 85% of participants successfully gained their Level 1 and 2 qualifications, with 62% progressing on to the Level 3 qualification. Of these, 88% gained this qualification, which has enabled them to leap into their new career.
