Local Music Spotlight: Carbon

BBC Merseyside local music champion Dave Monks is back at The Cavern tonight presenting three more amazing local talents

All three bands are recorded live at the Cavern and broadcast around one month later as part of Dave’s prime-time Saturday evening show – 8–10pm – BBC Radio Merseyside. Tonight is all about Judas, Alx Green and Carbon, fun starts at 8pm and we have put Carbon in local music spotlight ahead of the gig.

Tell us the story behind Carbon?
We all met in college doing a music course and kept in touch whilst playing in different bands and decided to start up Carbon.

How would you describe your music?
It’s hard to actually describe it, we all have different influences which makes the sound that we have.

How is 2016 shaping up so far, what is coming up?
We have just recorded a new song which is called Go Home and we are working on bringing out an EP this year.

If you could point people in the direction of one of you tracks what would it be?
Definitely Go Home it’s the latest track we have recorded. Hope you like it!

Give us 3 other local musicians/ bands that you are loving?
We are really liking Clean Cut Kid and they have done fantastic in the last 12 months also has F.O.E.S who we’ve gigged with a few times. We like Kusanagi and Seprona too.

Favourite music venue in the city?
There are a few good places to play locally. The Cavern is a great venue where we are playing tonight and we also enjoy playing Shipping Forecast and The Kazmier which has unfortunately been closed down.

Why should people come to The Cavern tonight?

Everyone should come down for a great night, it’s free entry and you’ll be supporting local music and BBC radio Merseyside. Why not what else are you doing to do on a Wednesday night.
