Lockdown is lifting and Southport can’t wait to welcome you back

Lockdown is lifting – and we can’t wait to get back out there and start enjoying our lives again.

There are signs of spring, the sun is beginning to shine, and there’s nowhere better to make the most of that and enjoy all that life has to offer than in Southport, one of the north west’s best-loved resorts.

Just imagine feeling the sand between your toes, splashing about in the sea with your mates or the kids, or taking a leisurely stroll along its famous Victorian pier…

There’s so much to revel in in the spectacular seaside resort and we can guarantee you’ll fall more in love with it than ever.

There’s tons we’ve missed over the last year, but it’s all about to open up once more and Southport can’t wait to welcome us back as restrictions ease.

We can’t wait to get out into its wide, open spaces…

Southport’s got 22 miles of stunning coastline and one of the biggest beaches, whether you want to build a castle, have a game of rounders with family and friends or settle down for a long-awaited picnic.

Its iron pier is the oldest in the UK with amazing views as far as Blackpool and North Wales and, even, a cracking tram ride.

Victoria Gardens is a beautiful place to wander, take in the fresh air, admire the floral displays as they bloom and blossom throughout summer, or make the most of its acres of lush, green lawns.

And don’t forget Formby Pinewoods, the National Trust treasure with walking trails and prehistoric links to the past, as well as the chance to catch up with some popular inhabitants, the red squirrels.

We can’t wait to play again…

There’s nothing like flying a kite on the beach for getting rid of those Covid cobwebs, going for a stroll along the prom or hauling out your bike and getting back in the saddle.

Southport’s got some superb cycling routes already mapped out for you to follow and explore.

And you can get yourself strapped in, because Pleasureland will also be waiting to welcome us back from April 12 for all the thrills and spills of the funfair. With loads of fantastic rides, and amazing attractions, it’s gonna be great!!

We can’t wait to see our friends again…

We do like to be beside the seaside and nothing beats a bag of salty fish and chips in the open air.

It won’t be long before we can sit outside to have a catch-up chat over a bowl of pasta or afternoon tea thanks to one of Southport’s great restaurants, cafes or tearooms, and only a little longer still before we can pull up a chair and tuck in indoors.

Southport’s got more than its fair share of bars and bistros, whether it’s a romantic rendezvous with your other half you’re most looking forward to, or a bite to eat after treating yourself to a much-deserved shopping trip.

Remember when we could just spend time together? So can we – and we can’t wait to do it all again…
