Look at the Buns on these! It’s National Burger Day!

Liverpool city centre is awash with burger joints from the independents of Bold Street to the myriad of national chains at Liverpool One. And gone are the days of a cheese single and dollop of ketchup! Get your onions rings and bacon stacked on…..there’s even veggie options!

We’ve pulled together some top Liverpool burger restaurants for you to celebrate this momentous day!

Euro Hostel Liverpool

The Hatch Bar, located within Euro Hostel Liverpool, is set to please ‘patty-lovers’ from across the city with a special offering this Burger Day. The bar and eatery, with entrances on Matthew Street, serves up a range of delicious burgers including two classic beef-burgers, a tasty chicken burger and a vegetarian option.

The ‘Hatch Beef Burger’ offers a handmade juicy patty served with pickles, crispy lettuce and lashings of cheese, and diners can upgrade to the ‘All In Burger’ and enjoy everything the ‘Hatch Beef Burger’ has to offer with the added indulgence of BBQ sauce and bacon rashers.

As burgers aren’t all about the beef, guests can also choose a ‘Chicken Burger’ marinated in a chilli & lime dressing made with crispy lettuce and cool mayo, while veggies can opt for the ‘Sweet Potato Patty’ comprising a mildly spiced potato-patty with roasted peppers and pesto. Prices start from £6. For more information visit

Delifonseca is set to celebrate Burger Day in style with a tongue-in-cheek creation. The aptly named ‘Br-egg-sit’ Burger celebrates the best of local produce, comprising a rare breed burger patty from Edge & Sons with crisped Cheshire Air-Dried Ham, Mrs Kirkham’s Tasty Lancashire Cheese and a local fried hens egg.

Proprietor of Delifonseca Candice Fonseca said: “Our talented chefs are always given the freedom to get creative and this time to pay homage to Burger Day, we’ve gone slightly topical with the ‘Br-egg-sit’ Burger. Instead of a brioche bun, we’re using a more English seeded bin-lid and we are serving it with traditionally British accompaniments such as onion rings and a beetroot ketchup to dunk the chunky chips in. The ‘Br-egg-sit’ Burger is priced at £13.95. For more information visit

Wall of Fame

Wall of Fame is an all-American inspired eatery with entrances on both Victoria Street and Mathew Street. Its menu features a varied selection of burger options including Philly Cheeseburger (6oz steak patty, 4oz rump steak, Swiss cheese, onion, green pepper & American mustard), Flamin’ Cheeto Burger (6oz steak patty, bacon, cheese, Cherry Coke BBQ sauce, lettuce, mayonnaise and a Flamin’ Cheeto onion ring) and the impressive Empire State Burger (two 6oz steak patties, gherkin, tomato, red onion, cheese & ketchup with a mini chicken burger slider). Burgers start from £10.00.
