Love is on the menu at Marco Pierre White’s newest Liverpool restaurant

Chefs at Wheelers of St James’s, Marco Pierre White’s new waterfront restaurant in Liverpool, are wooing diners this Valentine’s Day with a special aphrodisiac-infused dish.

Packed full of stimulating ingredients the amorous delicacy, including signature dish Oysters Rockefeller, is guaranteed to help get couples in the mood this February 14.

Oysters are rich in zinc, which is essential for healthy reproduction in men.

Even though women have much less testosterone than men, oysters are still a good choice for fuelling passion because they boost dopamine which increases sex drive in both men and women.

The ‘Lovestruck’ special of sweet potato with chilli, avocado, roasted pumpkin seeds, asparagus and basil creates a decadent special that could have you drooling.

Avocado and asparagus are particularly known for their aphrodisiac qualities and have long been linked to romance.

Asparagus is high in a B vitamin known as folate that aids in increasing the production of histamine, which is important for boosting libido. Chillies are rich in capsaicin which can trigger the release of endorphins to give a natural high.

Similar to oysters, pumpkins seeds are high in zinc and loaded with libido vitamins and minerals. While the scent of basil has long been associated with arousal.

And to top off the aphrodisiac-inspired delicacy, sweet potato is rich in potassium which combats high blood pressure to help stimulate every part of the body and contains high levels of vitamin A to boost fertility.

The stimulating special is just one of the dishes Wheeler’s of St James’s, at the Pullman Hotel, will be serving up this Valentine’s Day as part of its wider ‘Lovestruck’ menu.

The main ‘Lovestruck’ three-course set menu also features, Banana and Caramel Mess, Cote de bouef for two, roast rump of lamb, pan fried hake, Cambridge burnt cream and hot chocolate brownie with milk ice cream.

Head Chef Chris Jones, of Wheeler’s of St James’s and Pullman Liverpool, said: “We wanted to create something that would really help get our guests in the mood.

“Not only is the dish we have created delicious, but it is packed full of all the ingredients needed to charge up the libido and stimulate the senses.

“So this Valentine’s Day should be one to remember.”

Wheeler’s of St James’s, at the Pullman Liverpool, boasts stunning views of the River Mersey and Albert Dock and is the perfect setting for a romantic meal.

Wheeler’s of St James’s is the oldest fish restaurant in the world and was established in 1856. Many notable historical figures have dined on the menu’s original dishes, which Marco has kept but added his own unique flair.

The ‘Lovestruck’ special costs £14.95 per person. The main three course Lovestruck menu costs £45 per person.
