Maghull Health Studios relaunches with community at its heart
7 years ago
North Liverpool is to benefit from a brand new facility with classes and events for children and adults with additional needs.
Maghull Health Studios is currently undergoing a huge revamp ahead of an official launch event on Saturday 3rd March 2018 with a full range of fully inclusive health, well being, fitness and support services for everyone. Frustrated by the lack of accessible classes in the area, especially for those with additional needs, Liverpool Mum, Anna Erskine and a team of fellow parents have come together to offer a an inclusive, accessible facility for young people and adults living with a disability.
Having listening to what the local community wants through online forums and parents groups, Maghull Health Studios aims to offer a range of classes that will benefit all ages. Marrying dance, music and fitness with yoga, Zumba and Clubbercise classes plus a dedicated sensory room and cafĂ©, Maghull Health Studios and it’s team of fully trained staff with also offer advice and support on nutrition, building self-confidence and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Anna said: “I have worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years, I know what a positive impact exercise can make, not only on the body but more importantly the mind, everyone should have the chance to experience that.”Â
Maghull Health Studio owners, Kevin Mitchell, Stephen Edge and Mark King have worked hard to ensure the centre meets the needs of its users and following the refurbishment there will be two large studio spaces, a café, sensory room and accessible wet-room facility too.
There’s lots of fun to be had for young visitors as Maghull Health Studios lines up pre-school yoga and an interactive music session called Musical Bumps, while multi-sports sessions are planned for 7-13 year olds with a focus on team building. Aintree School of Music are also hosting two interactive music sessions per week for adults with additional needs, ensuring that all users have access to music, movement and inclusion.
Community inclusion is as the heart of the Maghull Health Studios relaunch as Anna and the team encourage everyone, some who have never been able to access a gym or community centre before, to go along and exercise and socialise in a comfortable, safe environment.
