Make your own Op-Art inspired Wallpaper at Tate Liverpool this Spring

Fancy creating your own unique wallpaper with Tate Liverpool?

Tate Liverpool has just released tickets for Off The Wall: Make Your Own Op-Art Wallpaper which takes place at the Albert Dock based gallery this Spring. Inspired by current exhibition, Op Art in Focus, this four week course is led by printmaker Colette Whittington and involves creating patterns and designs using wood blocks.

Op Art, short for Optical Art typically uses eye-popping colours, lines and geometric shapes to fool the eye, giving the illusion of movement. If you haven’t already visited, we recommend following in our Kate’s footsteps and trying to walk in a straight line over Jim Lambie’s ‘Zobop’ artwork on the second floor gallery!

No prior experience is necessary to sign up to the Off The Wall sessions, just plenty of enthusiasm and artistic flair. Sessions run on the following dates: 11th, 18th and 25th May 2019 and 1st June 2019. The course costs £150 (£120 for concessions) and involves learning about the Op Art movement and making your own wallpaper with wood blocks. Book here.

Free to enter, the current Op Art In Focus exhibition runs until 5th July 2019 and features works from artists such as Damien Hirst, Bridget Riley, Angela Bulloch and Jesus Rafael Soto.
