We’ve been shouting from the rooftops about the brand new Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill Liverpool since its recent refurbishment, and earlier this week the Hotel Indigo based venue celebrated its relaunch in suitable style with a seriously glamorous party.
We went along to bring you all the details on one of the most sophisticated new venues in the city. Watch our chat with General Manager, Mark Tasker above and find out what you can expect from Liverpool’s swankiest new venue. Plus we sent our Guide Liverpool CAM inside as the team prepared to launch!
Having strutted along the the red carpet, guests were treated to samples of the revised menus, cocktails and a selection of spirits, including the likes of Liverpool Vodka, Bottega Prosecco, Sipsmith Gin, Bulleit Trace Bourbon, and Graham’s Port. It’s fair to say Marco Pierre White Liverpool have an impressive bar stock and that’s before you know the story behind the revamp!

The commercial district neighbourhood is steeped in history from the cotton trade and every effort has gone into preserving the hotel’s former story. From the Matthew Street inspired tiles on the bar, to the geometric floor pattern giving a nod to our magnificent three graces and water front, every intricate detail links back to the city and MPW Liverpool is now a sleek reminder of days gone by.

With the party in full swing, entertainment came in the form of DJ Anton Powers and acclaimed singer and former LIPA student, Lauren Flynn, while Merseyside-based Zap Graffiti were commissioned to create a new mural live in front of guests in the outside terrace.

The artwork, inspired by the hotel’s cotton and music neighbourhood story, will be on permanent display at the hotel and really illuminated the party earlier this week. With banks of UV lighting picking out iconic shapes and forms, with a number of guests, namely Mr Scotland 2016 , Tristan Cameron Harper, and Mr England 2016, Chris Bramell.

Back to the food! Known for his love of simple traditional cooking, MPW guests were served a vast array of canapes in the form of smoked mackerel, honey mustard chipolatas and not 1, not 2, but 4 different cuts of mouth-watering meat. Delicate chocolate brownie’s topped with Chantilly cream and dollops of Eton Mess had even the staunch non-desserters licking their spoons clean.

Reflecting Marco’s passion for simplicity, there’s also a range of exciting new main courses available aside from steak. From Pork Belly Marco Polo, to Seared Yellowfin Tuna Steak and The Steakhouse Burger, the new menu is filled with favourites designed to stand the test of time. We’re certainly looking forward to making our way through the entire menu!
Mark Tasker, general manager at Hotel Indigo Liverpool, said:
“As the Godfather of modern cooking, this relaunch reaffirms Marco Pierre White’s place at the very top of Liverpool’s growing restaurant scene. He is a true original, whose name has become synonymous with great food, impeccable service, at an affordable price. These are traits that will continue as we enter into a new chapter for the Marco brand here in Liverpool.
“Our food offering has also expanded with a new lounge menu for those wanting a quick bite, while a revitalised main menu combines some of our most popular dishes with a host of exciting new additions, all reflecting Marco’s passion for classic food done consistently well.”
