The Marie Curie Hospice, Liverpool is looking for people to take on a hot challenge and walk over hot coals to help raise vital funds to support people living with a terminal illness.
A mixture of Marie Curie staff and members of the public will be taking part in the event at the Woolton-based hospice on Saturday 9 November.
Jackie Bell, Associate Director for Strategic Partnerships and Services at the Liverpool Hospice, said:
“We are thrilled to announce our Firewalk event on, organized by the Marie Curie Liverpool Fundraising Events Committee. This daring challenge is not just a bravery test, it’s about coming together as a community to support our hospice. Every step taken on those hot coals will directly benefit our patients, helping us continue to provide essential care and support to those in need.
Marie Curie is dependent on fundraising and public donations. In Liverpool, Marie Curie Nurses and healthcare professionals provide expert hospice care to people in their own home and at its hospice in Woolton.
The charity also provides a Volunteer Companions service who provide emotional and practical support to people across Liverpool – at home or over the phone.
Jen Corrigan, Community Fundraiser for Merseyside, said:
“We’re looking for more fearless fundraisers to take part in this ultimate test of mind-over-matter. By signing up to take on this exhilarating challenge, you will be safe in the knowledge that you’re helping to make a difference to people at the end of life, and their loved ones.
Registration for the Marie Curie Hospice, Liverpool Firewalk costs £25 with a sponsorship target of £125. Ages 16 and over suitable to take part. You can sign up here.
