Reflecting on the moment from many years ago, Mike McCartney, brother of Sir Paul McCartney says:
“Those were the days!..when our kid & his mates were practising their music, there as sweating support to Acker Bilk on a packed ‘Royal Iris Riverboat Shuffle’ & me practising photography, trying to get a decent shot in the crowd with my twin lens Rollei Magic camera..magic days!”
Mersey Ferries’ links to the fab five don’t stop there, did you know that Sir Peter Blake who created the Mersey Ferries’ Dazzle Ferry design, the only operating Dazzle ship in the Uk, also created The Beatles’ famous Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover.
