For International Women’s Day 2026, Metquarter is hosting a special evening featuring a panel discussion, audience Q&A and film screening, hosted by The Guide Liverpool’s Gemma Cutting.
Taking place on Thursday 5 March at 6pm, the evening will be hosted by The Guide Liverpool’s Gemma Cutting and will feature a panel talk and Q&A with two inspirational mother and daughter duos. Together, they will share insights into their personal and professional journeys, exploring their relationships, the power of cross-generational collaboration and how women can uplift and support one another at every stage of life.
Liverpool based event entrepreneurs Angela and Harriet Maguire, founders of The Event Agency will make up one half of the panel. They will share insights on their journey, from starting out their business to launching a one-stop events planning agency. The panel will explore key themes including what it’s like working together as a mother and daughter team in the events industry, and how that unique dynamic has influenced and shaped their business journey. They will also discuss the creative vision behind their successful events, working to inspire the next generation of young women stepping into the world of entrepreneurship.
Also joining the panel are Pauline Fleming and Cornelia Nelson, co-founders of Depth Training CIC, a Liverpool-based, family-led community interest company using performance and storytelling to transform communication across healthcare, education and public services. Pauline is a professional actor with a long career on stage and screen, including her role as Penny King in Coronation Street, and has spent nearly three decades delivering immersive medical roleplay and communication training nationwide. Working alongside her daughter Cornelia, who brings expertise from the Higher Education sector in student skills development and career readiness, the duo combine creative practice with strategic insight to deliver impactful, actor-led training. Together, they represent a powerful example of cross-generational collaboration, blending experience, empathy and innovation to strengthen confidence and communication across communities

There will be a 30-minute panel discussion which will include a Q&A section where guests will have the opportunity to ask the panelists about their careers journeys, the importance of women supporting women, and how they are helping to inspire the next generation of girls.
