Metquarter to host fashion pop up event where you can explore a treasure chest of unique pieces
5 months ago
Metquarter has announced it will host its first fashion-based pop up event as Couture Collective opens its doors in the centre for three days in September.
Metquarter will welcome a new fashion event from 6 – 8 September, perfect for fashion lovers who will be able to explore a treasure chest of unique pieces including bags, accessories and clothing all from local designers. Applications for fashion-based traders are open now and will close on Monday 19 August.
Run by two incredible local brand owners Bethan Flannagan (Buy By Bethan) and Nia Minnery (Woven By Nia Rose), the collective’s aim is to showcase as many talented local designers as possible over the course of the three days. The pop up will host a launch event on the evening of 6 September before it opens to the public on 7 September.
Bethan, a lifelong creative, is the founder of Buy By Bethan, a sustainable fashion brand that specialises in reworked, custom, and one-of-a-kind clothing items and she recently ran craft workshops as part of the city’s Taylor Town trail whilst Nia is the founder of Woven By Nia Rose, a Bohemian/Western-inspired label that utilises a diverse range of textiles and fabrics.
Not only is the Couture Collective pop up the perfect place for people to treat themselves or a loved one to a new item, but visitors will also have the chance to take part in fashion-based workshops and have a drink from the store bar.
Bethan Flanagan and Nia Minnery, Founders of Couture Collective said:
“We’re thrilled to host Couture Collective’s very first fashion pop-up at the legendary Metquarter! We’re all about sparking excitement and inspiring everyone to support emerging designers and creatives in the fashion scene. Imagine a vibrant community where these creative minds come together to share skills and ideas—that’s what we want to build! We’ve noticed through our own experiences that fashion and accessories don’t fit into the usual local craft and makers’ markets, and it’s time to change that! Liverpool’s local designers deserve recognition for their incredible talent. Couture Collective is here to create a supportive hub and marketplace that boosts their visibility. With Liverpool’s deep-rooted love for fashion, it’s wild that something like this hasn’t happened sooner. We’re beyond grateful to the Metquarter for supporting us as we launch this exciting event!’

“We are delighted to be able to offer the space to welcome Bethan and Nia to the centre for their first Couture Collective pop up. As a centre, we champion shopping small and the scheme is full of local independents so, whenever we have the chance to support more talented Liverpool makers and businesses, we jump at the chance! We were introduced to Bethan via the City Council during the Taylor Town activity and the relationship has developed into a unique opportunity for Couture Collective. The pop up is the perfect opportunity to discover new designers and treat yourself or a loved one to a unique item.”
The Couture Collective Pop Up will run at Metquarter from 6 – 8 September. For more information visit the website here. and follow @couturecollectiveco and @metquarter on Instagram.
