The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is developing an economic recovery plan for the whole city region that will be submitted to central government later this month.
?Let’s face it, our city is pretty impressive. This year we’re joining @VisitLiverpool to rediscover the incredible things that make Liverpool what it is, proving summer isn’t cancelled, it’s just different. ? Who’s in?#LoveYourLiverpool ?

The plan builds on the city region’s Local Industrial Strategy, which was the subject of extensive public engagement through the Metro Mayor’s “#LCRListens” scheme, which brought in a new approach to involving local residents in shaping the future of the city region. Over 7,000 local residents took part in #LCRListens last summer and shared their views on what they’d like to see improved in key areas like transport, jobs and skills, housing and the local environment.
Local residents are now invited to take part in an online #LCRListens survey, giving them the opportunity to comment on key elements of the draft economic recovery plan.
“This pandemic has had a massive impact on our region, both in terms of its effects on public health and our local economy. It does, however, present us with a chance to hit reset and reevaluate how we want our economy to look.
“I have been working with local business, trade union and third sector leaders to draw together a plan for how we can Build Back Better. For me, that means building an economy that is fairer, greener and more inclusive. But we cannot do that without our region’s most valuable asset: its people. Please take a few minutes to give us your ideas for our recovery.
“Despite the pandemic, I remain optimistic and ambitious for our future. Before this crisis, we were making some really strong progress. With your help we can ensure that we are able to not only rebuild but recover and flourish.”
