More names added to Liverpool Soul Fest lineup

Liverpool SoulFest have announced the second wave of acts for this year’s festival, including headline DJ Ronnie Herel.
Ronnie Herel is a true ambassador of Urban Music, and was snapped up as one of BBC 1 Xtra’s first signings in 2002, helming their specialist roster for 10 years. As a DJ, he has more than paid his dues in the R&B club scene dating back to 1989, and was voted best club DJ by the readers of Blues & Soul magazine in 2000.
Ronnie’s success has further been recognised with two MOBO nominations for Best Radio Show and UK Best Club DJ.
Also amongst the second wave acts for Liverpool SoulFest 2016 are SPXKEN, who fuse poetry with music genres such as Hip Hop, R&B, House and Gospel. Deliah also return for 2016 with their combination of the contemporary and the classic.
Finally, 20 year old singer-songwriter Raheem Alameen and Liverpool-based South Korean artist Grace Kim round off the second wave of acts. They will join previously announced acts, Lemar , Joy Oladokun, ShezAr, Mersey Wylie, and DJ’s including DJ Tizzle and DJ Niceness. Further acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

The venue for Liverpool SoulFest 2016 will be Seel Street’s amazing Arts Club, taking over both auditoriums in the venue on Saturday 8th October with massive headliners and exciting young artists. Once the live music finishes, the main auditorium will house Superbad DJs until the early hours for an all-night soul train dance-a-thon.
Throughout the weekend, there will be smaller, specially commissioned events at different venues around the city.
Liverpool SoulFest launched in 2015 with British soul legend Gabrielle and Mercury-nominated ESKA topping the bill, and was a labelled a “truly astonishing” achievement by influential Liverpool music blog Getintothis.
Soul Inspired Events have been running soulful events in Liverpool since 2012. In addition to SoulFest and the monthly Soul4Soul concerts and annual Soul Reach charity events, they have curated stages at festivals such as LIMF, Sound City and Pride.
Soul Inspired have also been responsible for bringing internationally acclaimed soul-inspired artists to Liverpool, including Grammy Award winners Snarky Puppy, Kirk Whalum and John Stoddart.
