Multi award winning Spanish flamenco is coming to Liverpool next month

On Thursday 13th October, Espiritu Flamenco are bringing multi award winning Spanish flamenco and music to Liverpool.

Andalusian flamenco dance maestro Julio Ruiz comes to The Capstone Theatre for one night only along with supremely talented musicians Cristo Heredia and “El Pelirrojo” José Manuel Martínez.

This very special showcase is a must for anyone who loves all things Spanish, as it represents a rare opportunity to experience authentic Andalucian flamenco and music in its most traditional form. Julio Ruiz, one of the most revered young dancers in Spain, is set to grace the Liverpool theatre alongside two of the most exciting young Spanish musicians — singer Cristo Heredia and guitarist José Manuel Martínez.

Julio is a very special talent indeed and recently reached the finals for the annual ‘Cante de las Minas’ competition this year, the most important international flamenco competition. This exciting booking is an impressive follow up from Espiritu Flamenco’s sell out show featuring Andrés Peña last April — a show that received widespread praise and captivated the audience.

The night will consist of imaginative flamenco and original Spanish music from a trio of extremely talented prize winning artists — promising to be an unforgettable night of romance, passion and elegance. A colourful cultural extravaganza, Espiritu Flamenco serves up a slice of Spain in the city like no other — taking the audience on an awe inspiring journey.

Event organiser, Sarah Chambers of Espiritu Flamenco, has been spearheading Spanish flamenco in the North West for 15 years and said:

“I’m thoroughly excited to be bringing this beautiful evening to Liverpool. We’ve been bringing exceptional artists from Cadiz, Granada, Almeria, Sevilla, Jerez and Madrid to the UK for years and after such an enjoyable Liverpool show last April I’m really excited to be back here again!”

She continued: “Traditional Spanish flamenco and music in a classy yet intimate theatre is a truly wonderful experience. Julio is a real star, with a beautiful style grounded in tradition and combined with exuberant contemporary elements. Meanwhile, Cristo comes from a respected family of flamenco singers and José was born into a family of flamenco tradition and has been performing professionally since the age of 15. Liverpool is in for a treat!”
