Museum of Liverpool documents the impact coronavirus had on communities during lockdown

09/09/2020

Throughout lockdown Liverpool branding and merchandise company, Wild Thang created a range of t-shirts supporting the NHS during the coronavirus crisis and now you can see them on display at Museum of Liverpool.

A new display at Museum of Liverpool documents the impact COVID-19 had had on communities in the city. Amongst the collection you’ll find lots of PPE which was created throughout the pandemic by Liverpool companies, the banner used for the Laps for Lives event which raised money for Merseyside PPE Hub and t-shirts which were specially created in support of the NHS by Wild Thang.

Andrew Dwerryhouse commented:

“As for many companies across the UK it continues to be a challenging time for Wild Thang as a business because of the effects of Corona Virus and the lockdown, so when this came completely out of the blue it was a real team morale booster & has filled Wild Thang with such pride. Our team’s efforts to make a difference by producing our branded campaign t-shirts to raise funds and awareness to highlight the efforts the NHS were making and the importance of social distancing, has been recognised.

“It’s a real honour to know we have made our very own little piece of history that will be documented in the museum archives for decades and even centuries to come, made in Liverpool, and displayed in the Museum of Liverpool.”

The Museum of Liverpool is now back open Wednesday to Sunday 10-5pm and as well as the new display you can take a unique view of Liverpool’s social history with historic vehicles at the Liverpool On Wheels exhibition and also experience what life was like in the city during the Blitz with Blitzed: Liverpool Lives.
