NBA legend Jason Kidd becomes part of Everton’s new ownership team

Everton have announced that basketball icon and current Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd has officially become part of the Club’s ownership group.

Kidd joins via Roundhouse Capital Holdings, which is part of The Friedkin Group, the US-based investment team that’s recently taken over at Goodison Park.

Kidd is one of the NBA’s most decorated stars – a 10-time All-Star, an NBA Champion with the Mavericks in 2011, and a two-time Olympic gold medallist. He’s currently Head Coach at the Mavericks, and just last year led them to the Western Conference Championship.

Now he’s switching from the basketball court to the boardroom at Everton.

Speaking about joining the Club, Jason Kidd said:

“I’m honoured to be joining Everton’s ownership at such an important moment. With a new stadium on the horizon and a bright future ahead, it’s a great time to come on board.”

Everton Executive Chairman Marc Watts welcomed the appointment, saying:

As one of the NBA’s greatest players and now a successful coach, his knowledge and winning mentality will be a huge asset to Everton.
He’s a respected leader and a well-known name across the sports world – and his experience around high-performance environments is going to be incredibly valuable as we push the Club forward.”

With work continuing on the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock and a fresh era already taking shape behind the scenes, this is another big moment for Everton as they look to the future.
