New Asian fusion restaurant Liu Shi is coming to Hope Street

A welcome addition to the thriving Liverpool leisure scene, Liu Shi promises a wide menu of Asian fusion dishes – a few you might recognise, and others developed by Liu Shi chefs, coupled with a relaxed atmosphere and stunning interior.

Liu Shi has announced its brand-new restaurant on 60 Hope Street in the heart of Liverpool’s historic Georgian Quarter, will open on 25 January 2024.

Superbly located in the shadows of the city’s two iconic cathedrals, the restaurant is committed to serving dishes to customers using local ingredients combined with fragrant spices and flavours from across Asia.

Liu Shi is celebrating the opening by offering its first diners a free drink with their meal.

Phil Breen, General Manager of Liu Shi, said:

“We are excited to bring relaxed fusion dining to Hope Street.  The area is vibrant and full of Liverpool history with a tremendous buzz. Whether guests are exploring, celebrating, or dining with friends, colleagues or loved ones, looking for a memorable dinner or just a few snacks, our menus are affordable to suit every occasion. With a free drink for our first diners, guests will be able to experience the service and enjoy a celebratory toast on us.”

Set just a few steps away from the famous ‘A Case History’ suitcases sculpture by John King, Liu Shi at 60 Hope Street is set over three floors, and the spacious yet cosy restaurant will seat up to 120 guests at basement and ground level, with the top floor opening in the spring for weddings, parties, corporate events, anniversaries, baby showers, launches, and intimate events.

Phil Breen, has had over 15 years’ experience in hospitality and is keen to welcome guests, he added:

“Our chefs are busy finalising the menu and we are really looking forward to showcasing our dishes to Liverpool diners – we know that visitors will love what we have  planned for them. There will be something for everyone, from snacks and nibbles to small and large plates, including duck cottage pie, Asian inspired Sunday roast and weekend brunch.”

Stopping by for a few drinks will be welcomed too, with bao buns, tempura prawns and salt and pepper chips hitting the spot with small plates for lighter bites. Vegans and guests with allergen or other dietary requirements need not worry, Liu Shi has exciting options designed for all. 

Whether your visit to Hope Street is cultural, for leisure, visitingThe Philharmonic Hall, Everyman Theatre, the Cathedrals, or simply to roam for a few hours, you’ll struggle to find a more welcoming spot to enjoy one of the most beautiful parts of the city.
