New bar, Tempest on Tithebarn gets set to open this Bank Holiday weekend
4 years ago
As Liverpool’s hospitality industry starts to thrive again, one venue is getting ready for a soft launch opening as customers are allowed back inside to dine and drink as well as making the most of al fresco.
The wonderful Tempest on Tithebarn opens from midday this Friday and across the Bank Holiday weekend, then fully officially from Tuesday 1st June at 8.30am onwards.
Bucking the trend and the challenges that the hospitality industry has endured during the last 15 months, Tempest on Tithebarn is set to be one of Liverpool’s foremost social destinations, a city-centre hotspot offering several distinct spaces and a multitude of music, events and get-togethers.
£250,000 has already been invested into the project, helmed by the owner of the iconic Ma Boyle’s, Iain Hoskins.
The beautiful venue harks to New York’s meatpacking district eateries, focusing heavily on brunches, lunches, cocktails and craft beer; stone walls and bare wood with lots of natural lighting feature in the ground-floor open plan restaurant and bar, to the intimate subterranean club space with huge potential for parties, to one of the city’s best roof-top views – 10 storeys high – which looks out across Liverpool with incredible views in all directions.
Demand for the multi-space venue for private parties, events and weddings is already high.
Iain explains:
“We of course can’t wait to open our doors and show just how lovely the building here is. Myself and the team are all raring to go. It’s a pivotal moment for us being able to open, and for the whole city which has been booming over the last few weeks al fresco and now being able to serve inside too.
“We feel we have got something different to offer everyone across our breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, through to music and events including our jazz festival in the summer. This has been reflected in the bookings we have already got in the coming weeks and months. And as a place to come to for after work drinks, a night out, to catch up with family and friends – we can do it all here, we cover the early risers to the late finishers and everyone in between.”
For the opening weekend Tempest on Tithebarn is launching its Bottomless Brunch service. There is also an in-house bakery serving delicious freshly baked croissants, muffins, bread and other treats every morning and coffee and teas.
The beehives on the roof will also be used, with honey cultivated for the kitchen and customers. And a wide range of music and events are being programmed in too, including a jazz festival across the weekend of Friday 30th July – Sunday 1st Aug. More details are coming soon.
And just a few roads away, Ma Boyle’s continues to thrive. The alehouse and eatery is a Liverpool institution which is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2021 – a year late, but who’s counting – and is already welcoming customers back inside.
