The largest independent operator in Liverpool, Pub Invest Group, who run well known popular city centre sites such as Moloko, Level, Rubber Soul Complex, Sgt Peppers and Brooklyn Mixer to name a few, have now launched Playbox on Bold Street.
Set in the basement the venue has taken over what was previously a William Hill Bookmakers.
When entering down the stairs customers will be met with a range of games from FIFA on the big screens, classic arcades, pinball machines, multiplayer shoot ’em ups, racing simulators, basketball lanes, air hockey games, pool tables plus several slot machines.
A spokesperson for Pub Invest Group said:
“Famously bohemian, Liverpool’s Bold Street has always had an independence and charm unmatched by any other area of the city. The venue has been transformed into an interactive bar and arcade. Guests can sit and relax with a drink or immerse themselves in a game of FIFA. Playbox has also created 20 full and part-time jobs in the city centre hospitality sector. “
The venue shifts from an adult playground to a full-fledged bar in the evening with DJs and live music taking partygoers right the way through until 4am, with all of the gaming machines fully functioning until closing.
There is also food served all day with Detroit-style deep-pan pizzas available at the bar for those who want to combine some lunch with a game of pool.
Opening hours are Monday -Thursday, 5pm until 3am. Friday, 4pm until 4am. Saturday, 2pm until 4am. Sunday, 2pm until 3am.
