New Irish Pub, Temple Tavern, opens in the Cavern Quarter

A brand new Irish pub has opened its doors in the heart of Liverpool’s Cavern Quarter, bringing traditional charm and community spirit to one of the city’s most iconic streets.

Temple Tavern, located in the former Reiss store just off Mathew Street, launched over the weekend with sunshine, live music, and a warm welcome. Blending authentic Irish character with a local twist, the new venue promises classic pub vibes and affordable prices.

With live music every day, including regular traditional Irish “Trad Sessions,” Temple Tavern is quickly becoming a hotspot for locals and tourists alike. The bar features a handpicked selection of over 30 Irish whiskeys and rotating drinks offers, making it the perfect stop for a relaxed pint or a lively night out.

“We’re really excited to bring this new Irish venue to Mathew Street. Temple Tavern is an intimate yet lively pub with lots packed into it, from the detail that’s gone into the interiors to the traditional Irish music. We have rolled back pricing to what you expect from a local pub so we’re going to be pretty unique compared to most city centre venues as well. The launch weekend was a huge success and we look forward to a busy summer in the city.”

The pub is the latest addition from Pub Invest Group, the independent Liverpool-based operator behind more than 40 venues across the city, including Level, Erics, The Old Bank, and Rubber Soul.

Spread across two floors and featuring outdoor seating, Temple Tavern has also created 30 new jobs for the city, offering both part-time and full-time roles.

Whether you’re after a taste of Ireland, great live music, or just a good pint at a fair price, Temple Tavern is set to be a summer favourite in Liverpool.
