New Mediterranean restaurant Sirocco opens at The Grand Southport
1 hour ago

The Grand, one of Southport’s most iconic landmark venues on Lord Street, has added a fresh new dining spot to its ground floor with the launch of Sirocco — a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant bringing a taste of coastal Europe to the heart of town.
Open in The Grand every day, Sirocco aims to capture the laid-back charm and big flavours of Mediterranean dining. Whether you fancy a long lunch, a relaxed evening meal or a few small plates and drinks with friends, there’s plenty to choose from, all served up in a stylish but welcoming setting.
Perfect for family get-togethers, birthday meals or special occasions, Sirocco’s menu takes its inspiration from across the Med, with flavours from Italy, Spain, Greece, Morocco and France all making an appearance.

Dishes include homemade hummus, whipped feta, croquettes, patatas bravas and a Mezze Table selection for sharing. Small plates cover everything from chorizo al vino and gruyere and spinach fondue to chicken gyros bowls and flambeed halloumi.
For something heartier, there’s a dedicated pizza and pasta menu featuring options like the El Fuego, Pepperoni Provençal and Burrata Caprese Pasta. Mains include classics such as steak frites, chicken souvlaki, Moroccan lamb stew and a range of burgers.
Diners can choose to sit inside Sirocco’s main restaurant or adjoining bar, or head out onto The Grand’s terrace, which is ideal for al fresco dining when the sun’s shining.

If you’re after a leisurely afternoon treat, Sirocco also offers its own twist on afternoon tea, blending traditional favourites with a Mediterranean touch for a mix of savoury and sweet.
A spokesperson for The Grand Southport said: “We’re really excited to introduce Sirocco to The Grand. It’s a slightly more relaxed style of dining than we’ve done before and the feedback so far has been fantastic. Our chefs have created a menu that’s vibrant, creative and accessible, and people seem to really love it.”

The opening of Sirocco is the latest chapter in The Grand’s story. Since its £4 million transformation by the Mikhail Hotel & Leisure Group, the venue has become a go-to spot in Southport for dining, events and nights out. Alongside the new restaurant, guests can also enjoy the 250-seat Princess Grace function suite, Harry’s Bar and the rooftop Sky Bar with coastal views.
Originally built in 1923 and turned into The Grand Cinema in 1938, the building is a big part of Southport’s history. Now Sirocco is adding a fresh new flavour, making sure The Grand continues to evolve and attract locals and visitors alike.
