Noel Gallagher donates signed guitar to support Liverpool 8 charity
2 months ago

Noel Gallagher has donated a signed guitar to help raise much-needed money for The Florrie in Liverpool 8.
The Oasis star gifted the one-off collectible to help support The Florrie, its landmark historic building on Mill Street, and its work in the local community.
Noel’s generous gesture did have a little cheeky side to it – as a massive Manchester City fan, he couldn’t resist mentioning his favourite team alongside the signature.
Whoever’s lucky enough to take home the cream Epiphone SG in the charity raffle will get the bonus message ‘M.C.F.C. 4 Ever’ as well as his signature and a big heart.
Community Hub Co-ordinator at The Florrie Timo Tierney says the guitar will give a major boost to their funds.

He says: “Oasis are the hot ticket for 2025, they’re who everybody wants to see this year, and you’re never going to get another guitar like this so we want to raise as much as we can from it.
“Noel’s written MCFC on it because obviously he’s a big Man City fan, and we’ve had a few people joke that if they win it they’re going to get that bit of permanent marker off the guitar, but it might be a City fan who wins because the tickets are being bought by people all over the country.”
Tickets for the raffle are going to be on sale, either online from The Florrie’s website or in person, up until just before Oasis’ first summer reunion gig date in July so there’s plenty of time for fans to get their hands on one.
Timo, who’s singer and guitarist with The Tea Street Band, organises weekly guitar sessions at The Florrie and The Big Guitar-in at St George’s Hall.

The most recent event, in December last year, brought together hundreds of guitarists of all ages and abilities for a huge pre-Christmas gig.
As with previous Guitar-Ins, the night attracted support from lots of local musicians including Red Rum Club and Ian Prowse.
And Timo says Noel’s guitar donation isn’t the first time a member of Oasis has shown their support for The Florrie.
“When we did the first 100 guitars fundraiser, I got a text off Bonehead who’s one of the founder members to say he was coming. He came along and joined in with us and he’s been really supportive of everything we do.”

At the heart of L8 for well over a century, The Florrie is a community hub providing a wide range of activities, cultural events, food support and welfare advice.
It also has a recently refurbished café, open between 8.30am and 2pm, which Timo says is an ideal place for people to go before and after classes or as a workspace.
“We have Wi-Fi so people can come into the café, use it for work, have a cuppa and support the Florrie at the same time because all the money goes back into what we do, all the activities and welfare support,” he adds.
