Nursery which cares for children crisis thanks public for generous support during Christmas appeal
6 months ago

Centre 56 is a nursery with a difference, working with children and families who have experienced domestic abuse or a crisis situation.
They launched their gift tag appeal last month, with the aim of giving every child at the nursery a present and a pair of pyjamas for Christmas, a gift for every parent and carer and a Christmas dinner hamper for every family. The appeal closes this week and, thanks to the collective efforts of people and businesses across Liverpool and beyond, our families will have a happy Christmas.
Alongside the presents, gifts and pyjamas, Centre 56 also raised over £7,750, which will be used to buy additional gifts, Christmas dinners and extra treats for families of the nursery.
Paula Graves, Centre 56 Children’s Support Manager, said:
“I am absolutely blown away with the generosity shown to our children and families. We didn’t want any of our children to wake up to nothing on Christmas Day and it seems like everyone agreed with us. We’d like to say a special thank you to Rise Framework, The Philanthropost Committee, AFC Aigburth and Argos for their incredible donations and to every single person who has supported our appeal – thanks to your generosity, some of of the most vulnerable families in our community will have a happy Christmas.”
“For these contributions we wanted to give a special thank you to Rise Construction Framework, the Philanthropist Committee, Redwing, M&Y Maintenance and Construction and AFC Aigburth as well as BBC Radio Merseyside for giving a platform for our appeal.”
