Our heads are still reeling from the announcement of Oasis retuning, there’s new updates on the Peaky Blinders movie, and a there’s even been a surprise performance from Chris Hemsworth at an Ed Sheeran concert.

Oasis set for a huge comeback tour in 2025

It’s the news fans have been waiting for! Oasis will reunite for a series of shows in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin in summer 2025.

These exclusive European dates promise to be among the hottest tickets of the decade.

The Oasis live experience is unmatched: the electric atmosphere, the roar of the crowd, and the unforgettable setlists filled with timeless classics.

Despite their separate successes, Liam and Noel Gallagher are finally ready to share the stage once more, making this reunion a must-see.


The City is Ours continues filming in Liverpool

This City Is Ours is the latest project to receive investment from the Liverpool City Region Production Fund, managed by Liverpool Film Office.

Filming has taken place at various locations across Liverpool City Region.

Created by writer Stephen Butchard (The Good Mothers, The Last Kingdom), this eight-part series follows Michael, played by Nelson-Joyce while, as he navigates life being in love while firmly embedded in the world of organised crime and the disintegration of his own gang.

The series brings together a stellar cast including Sean Bean (“Time,” “Marriage”), James Nelson-Joyce (“Bird,” “A Thousand Blows”), Hannah Onslow (“Empire of Light,” “This Is Going to Hurt”), and Jack McMullen (“Hijack,” “Ford V Ferrari”).

Other cast announced for the project include Julie Graham (Shetland, Time), Laura Aikman (Archie, Gavin & Stacey), Kevin Harvey (Treason, Time), Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls, Upgraded), Mike Noble (Shardlake, The Long Shadow), Bobby Schofield (SAS Rogue Heroes, The Suspect), Darci Shaw (Judy, A Thousand Blows) and Stephen Walters (Slow Horses, Anne).

While shooting, the production has also supported trainee placements for local, new entrant crew from diverse backgrounds from Liverpool Film Office’s new skills initiative Action!


Jamie Webster drops new single “24 Hours in A&E”

Local musican Jamie Webster has announced that his new single 24 Hours in A&E is “out everywhere” now. 

Jamie has described the song as being about the current state of the UK’s health service and how it has been “ran into a state of managed decline”. 

In a post on Instagram Jamie said: 

“I’d written a poem one night, when I couldn’t sleep, about my experience in A&E and that of others. Went into a studio with a good friend and we had this mad idea to make something a bit different, with a 90s New York hip-hop-inspired production behind it…

“… It’s definitely different, but it still has an important message and I stand by it with no regrets whatsoever.” 


Barry Keoghan joins Cillian Murphy for Peaky Blinders film

It’s official: Barry Keoghan is joining Cillian Murphy for the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie.

Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Tommy Shelby, while Barry Keoghan steps into an undisclosed role as the Shelby family’s story moves into the Second World War.

Series creator Steven Knight promises that this film will be an “explosive chapter” with “no holds barred.” Fans are eagerly anticipating what Keoghan will bring to the gritty Birmingham-based drama that regularly used Liverpool as a main filming location.

Cillian Murphy, who will co-produce the film, said it was “one for the fans”.


Spencer Matthews sets marathon record in the desert

Broadcaster Spencer Matthews has achieved a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive marathons run on sand, completing 786 miles in the scorching Jordanian desert.

Facing 45-degree heat, he ran from Wadi Rum to the Dead Sea, all to raise funds for Global’s Make Some Noise.

Spencer, who finished his final marathon in just over four hours, said, “My former self wouldn’t believe it. I feel amazing and overwhelmed by the support.” It’s a testament to his determination and a new chapter in his journey.


Molly-Mae Hague speaks out after split from Tommy Fury

Reality star Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about her recent split from Tommy Fury, confirming she won’t reveal the reasons behind their breakup out of respect for their daughter, Bambi.

In a video on her YouTube channel, Molly-Mae described the split as “real life” and not for publicity, emphasising her ongoing respect and love for Fury.

After five years together, she remains grateful for their time, stating, “He is Bambi’s dad, and I will always value him and respect him.”


Beetlejuice sequel premieres to standing ovations

The much-anticipated sequel to the cult classic Beetlejuice premiered at the Venice Film Festival, receiving a standing ovation. 

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice brings back Michael Keaton as the mischievous demon, along with Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega, and Catherine O’Hara.

This time, it’s the rebellious teenage daughter Astrid, played by Ortega, who stumbles upon the portal to the afterlife, reigniting Beetlejuice’s chaos.

With filmmaker Tim Burton at the helm, fans can expect all the quirky charm of the original, plus a few new surprises.


Chris Hemsworth surprises fans at Ed Sheeran concert

Concertgoers in Romania were in for a treat when Chris Hemsworth joined Ed Sheeran on stage to play the drums during Sheeran’s hit “Thinking Out Loud.”

The surprise appearance was filmed for Hemsworth’s series Limitless, which explores the boundaries of human endurance.

The Thor actor brought a fresh energy to the performance, delighting 60,000 fans at Bucharest’s National Arena and adding yet another incredible moment to Sheeran’s concert.
