With so many fabulous, festive events to check out this Winter, swerve the parking drama and discover why Christmas in Liverpool is Better By Bus.
Is there anything more Christmassy than having a wander around town under the twinkly lights, picking up gifts for your loved ones and having a giggle with your mates? The Better By Bus campaigns aims to get you to and from the festive fun this winter with regular bus services, cheap ticket prices and brilliant extras such as phone charging ports and free wifi onboard – perfect for uploading those Christmas ‘Elfies.
Watch above as our very own Pete Price spreads Christmas cheer with Better By Bus and hosts the Liverpool City Region’s first ever GOGGLEBUS and gives out festive prizes including tickets to Cinderella at the Liverpool Empire and The Scouse Nativity at The Royal Court.
Treat the kids to some after-school fun, book a festive afternoon tea with your mum or nan, or get your mates together for a weekend exploring the markets and festivals, without the added stress of parking the car. With more than 6,000 bus stops, 10 major bus stations across the region and some services running as regularly as every 3 minutes, you can visit all the family for less, throughout the festive period with Better By Bus.
Here’s 5 festive Liverpool City Region events to check out by bus this winter……
1 – Liverpool Christmas Markets, St George’s Hall
Liverpool Christmas Market has returned to light up St George’s Hall with twinkly lights and delicious sights and smells. There’s 40 traditional style huts serving up tasty snacks, warming drinks, handmade gifts and music from until Friday 22nd December. More here.
2 – Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, St Helen’s Theatre Royal
There’s a number of fantastic family panto’s on this winter and we’re heading to St Helen’s Theatre Royal to watch funny man Johnny Vegas take up his role as the Magic Mirror in Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs. The 10 or 10a service from Liverpool’s Queen Square will get you there in no time. See more here.
3 – Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival
If thrill rides and icy fun is more your thing, get down to the Pier Head as the Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival returns with fairground fun for everyone. Ice Skating, Ice Slide, Ice Bar and the UK’s only high-octane Bobsleigh ride, Ice Jet are all open now and run until 7th January. Find out more here.
4 – Birkdale Victorian Christmas Fayre
On the 7th of December Birkdale Village will host its famous Christmas Fayre from 4-7pm. Santa will be there alongside traders dressed in Victorian Attire and plenty of traditional Christmas spirit. With a great mixture of old and new, stalls selling sweet treats, gifts and decorations make this day out a thoroughly unique experience. 5 – The Lanterns at Chester Zoo
From 24th November until 30th December, twilight falls across Chester Zoo and a magical Christmas sorting office comes to life.
