Woodfall Primary School have been fundraising for Maggie’s Wirral since 2018. From bake sales to students’ own clothes days. Most recently members of staff took part in the Liverpool Culture Crawl in September 2022.
The local primary school have raised over £5,000 for the centre. Maggie’s is a cancer support charity supporting people in Merseyside and Cheshire living with cancer and beyond.
Kathy Wright, centre head, said:
“We are supporting visitors who are going back to work too early, worrying about food and heating, and even missing hospital appointments because they cannot afford travel costs. We’re extremely grateful to everyone at Woodfall Primary School, it’s because of schools and groups like Woodfall Primary that we’re able to continue offering our support.”
The charity are encouraging people to host their own Kitchen Table Day this May. This is a lovely opportunity to gather friends and family around your kitchen table, have fun whilst raising funds to help people with cancer.
Whether it is coffee and biscuits, fizz and cake, a night in with friends or even a fun game of prize bingo around the kitchen table, it could be the perfect occasion to catch up with friends in the comfort of your own home or workplace.
